1. Complete the application
2. Complete a resume of educational history and ministry experience
3. Include photocopies of all necessary degrees, awards, certifications, and license or ordination
4. Include application fee along with examination fee if applicable
After receiving the necessary information and application fee, NAFC will mail the examination* along with a copy of the Code of Ethics.
After approval and passing the exam, your certificate or certification will be mailed within one month along with the form to apply for professional liability insurance.
If you are not successful with your first attempt at passing the exam, you may retake it. The administrative cost for grading and processing the exam is $49 for each attempt.
If for any reason membership is not approved, the application fee will be refunded.
*The national examination is a proctored open Bible exam. The exam will be mailed to you in a sealed envelope to be opened by the exam proctor. The proctor cannot be a family member or relative. It is an open Bible exam (wtih concordance if you like) that you must complete without the help of others. The proctor signs affidavit with their contact information. Upon completion of the exam, you hand it back to the proctor for them to re-seal it in the included envelope along with the affidavit. You then mail the sealed envelope to NAFC to be graded on a pass-fail basis. Seventy and above is passing. The score is not revealed nor is the graded exam returned. The exam is 100 questions and contains multipe choice, true-false, and some short answer questions.
